Life is full this week with my teaching two creative writing workshops, attending Grandparents Day at Makayla and Emma's school, getting my information together to send in for my NC Poet Laureate nomination (the competition is tough but I am just happy to have been nominated!!) and cleaning the leaves off of my long driveway ... again and again and again.
This time of year always makes me think of change.... and change is a good thing.
We have to remember that once we accept ourselves as we are, we must get ready to change in some way again. And although sometimes change is scary, it is always a gift.
So, enjoy these beautiful days, smile at someone who usually pisses you off, and know that change is happening... here, there, and everywhere....
Fall has always been my favorite season--because of all the colors and smells and changes in temperatures, etc. the workshop on colors was great--I am enjoying using the power of the colors. The experience of drawing/painting yesterday was painful for me and I feel that I have come out of that experience feeling better about my artwork. I am becoming attached to my basket. I have kept my painted basket and it is on my dresser. Today I was a work department retreat and one of our activities was to paint. Well, I did not cry and I did a good job at it and I enjoyed it. The workshop was timely for me.
ReplyDeleteI love all you wonderful, inciteful, accepting women.

ReplyDeleteMariJo - I just love these words. Thanks for another wonderful workshop. My children are always interested in what we do at our gatherings, and they really enjoyed hearing about this one and learning about the colors. They have started to want to meditate and pray with me at night and this is such a great thing. It seems so much more meaningful than the "prayers" I grew up reciting that had no spiritual meaning.

Love you Suzie!! You rock brave girl!!
